The Problem

Structural barriers hinder Under-represented, Low Income, and First Time students from successfully applying to medical school. These barriers may be alleviated by providing comprehensive, free resources tailored to UpLIFT student experiences.

Enhancing the diversity of the physician workforce is critical to addressing healthcare disparities . . . and so requires innovative efforts such as UpLIFT that promote the ability of individuals from historically and socially disadvantaged groups to gain admission to medical school. I am therefore thrilled to be able to support this very important effort at promoting heath care equity.

We are a nonprofit organization started by students for students. We provide students of all backgrounds with mentorship and free access to validated, up-to-date information about successfully applying to medical school, particularly from a disadvantaged background.
