Enhancing the diversity of the physician workforce is critical to addressing healthcare disparities . . . and so requires innovative efforts such as UpLIFT that promote the ability of individuals from historically and socially disadvantaged groups to gain admission to medical school. I am therefore thrilled to be able to support this very important effort at promoting heath care equity.
We are a nonprofit organization started by students for students. We provide students of all backgrounds with mentorship and free access to validated, up-to-date information about successfully applying to medical school, particularly from a disadvantaged background.
Our guide covers everything about applying to medical school from start to finish, starting with a description of whether medicine is right for you to how to pick a school and negotiate financial aid packages.
